Kent

Hever Castle - the childhood home of Anne Boleyn; one of King Henry VIII's six wives! Unfortunately he had her beheaded! The castle is fantastically preserved and is set in stunning grounds which include a Maze. The castle also houses 2 very rare books from the 13th century, one being Anne Boleyn's signed 'Book of Hours'. Lancashire

Blackpool Tower - situated in one of Britain's oldest established seaside resorts. The Tower itself is a famous landmark and was a compliment to the Eiffel tower of Paris. Opened in 1894 it stands 518 feet (approximately 200m) high. Open daily from April to November. Telephone +44 (0)1253 622242

Lincolnshire

Lincoln Castle - built by William the Conqueror in 1068 it has walls up to 10ft (3.5m) thick. The Cobb Hall tower was the site for public executions until 1868. London

Eltham Palace - once home to King Henry VIII it was frequently used for jousting tournaments and royal hunting parties. It fell into disuse after falling out of royal favour, King Charles 1st being the last monarch to use the palace. Pre-WW2 saw a revival in its fortunes where some of high society's most lavish parties were held. Hampton Court Palace - a royal home since the days of King Henry VIII you can view the magnificent State Apartments and be entertained by costumed guides who bring to life the Palace in Tudor times and during the reign of King William III. St Pauls Cathedral - one of London's most famous landmarks it was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and built in 1710. Latterly more famous as the setting for the wedding of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. Features include the Whispering Gallery and the largest crypt in Europe.
